What is the response of marine life to climate variability?
RI NSF EPSCoR is focused on advancing research and infrastructure in the life sciences through collaboration. Guided by the question above, three main research questions structure the investigations by our science leaders. In the last year alone, 21 publications by EPSCoR researchers have been printed answering these questions.
Statewide Research Centers in Marine Life Sciences, Genomics, and Proteomics are a platform for collaborative research and they facilitate training of the next generation of scientists. The modern equipment and technical expertise at the Centers make Rhode Island researchers more competitive for seeking funding. In 2012, 12 EPSCoR researchers were received STAC’s 2012 Rhode Island Research Alliance Collaborative Research Grants.
Rhode Island NSF EPSCoR also supports infrastructure in scientific visualization and cyber technology as well as research training through stream biology projects and communication workshops.
